Commercial roofing methods have been around for as long as commercial buildings have been around. Gravel and tar built-up roofs were very popular in the 1840s. However, recent commercial buildings are built with a type single-ply membrane roofing system. For instance, if you were to look at new commercial construction, most likely the roofers would be putting on PVC (Poly Vinyl Chloride), EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer), TPO (Thermoplastic Polyolefin), TPE (Thermoplastic Polyolefin Elastomer) or PIB (Polyiso Butylene).
